The Local History Collection focuses on the history of Orange County California and the cities within Orange County, Southern California and to a lesser extent California as a whole.

The collection includes 3860 cataloged books and pamphlets, correspondence, ephemera, manuscripts, maps, memoribilia, microfilm, papers, periodicals, posters and photographs.

From the Collection: 733 boxes (733 boxes, 3860 volumes in 429 linear feet plus two large orange cabinets drawers and two map cases drawers. )

Letters from the Imperial College of Science and Technology (Royal School of Mines), the Royal Geographic Society, and the Central Chancery of the Orders of Knighthood.

A certificate of recognition as an Officer of the British Empire, and a supplement to the London Gazette.

Certificates from the Institution of Mining and Metallurgy, the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers, the State of California State Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers, and the U.S. Department of the Interior.

A tube containing a diploma from the Royal College of Science.
