The Local History Collection focuses on the history of Orange County California and the cities within Orange County, Southern California and to a lesser extent California as a whole.
The collection includes 3860 cataloged books and pamphlets, correspondence, ephemera, manuscripts, maps, memoribilia, microfilm, papers, periodicals, posters and photographs.

McFadden, "The Valencia in Placentia" photocopy, "Brief History of Placentia, California," glossary of prominent Orange County names, commemoration of O'Neill Park, Ontiveros Rancho timeline, prelimnary Rancho Los Coyotes timeline, and two copies of "The Volunteer" containing an article on the history of the Red Cross in Orange County.
