General
Corrected typescript, 3 pages. Initialled G.B.S. and dated 18/3/59. A memorandum written for Stephen Winsten (Inca) about the author Henry Salt, who published books on such diverse topics as Thoreau, Richard Jeffries, Shelley, flogging, vegetarianism, and wild flowers. Shaw had planned to write a memoir of Salt, but the project was never completed and he made his recollections available to Winsten in this memorandum. Apparenlty, something was cut from the top. Winsten went on to publish "Salt and his circle", a 224 page biography in 1951.
