The Local History Collection focuses on the history of Orange County California and the cities within Orange County, Southern California and to a lesser extent California as a whole.
The collection includes 3860 cataloged books and pamphlets, correspondence, ephemera, manuscripts, maps, memoribilia, microfilm, papers, periodicals, posters and photographs.

Contains materials for a display on C.C. Chapman, including writings by and about him and his work in the citrus industry and Chapman College. Includes a map of Chapman's ranch, a chronology of his life, a list of major events and purchases, an article on Chapman's oil interests, and "Chapman Remembers: The Founding Years" by A. Reasoner Sayre with a list of referenced sources. Also contains photocopied microfilm of articles from The Fullerton News and Daily News Tribune.
