General

Juan-by-the-Sea was an 1880s boom time town along the Santa Fe railroad. The depot there was built shortly after the rails reached the southern tip of Orange County in 1888. The tract died with the collapse of the boom, and by 1895 the town was all but deserted. The area was later known as Serra, then Capistrano Beach. Today it is part of the City of Dana Point. Western Union telgraph office is located inside of the building. A man is sitting in a chair next to the door. Man, woman, young boy, and a young girl that is holding a doll. Capistrano Beach, CA.
