The collection consists of photographs taken between 1882 and 1953 of various exterior locations primarily in Orange County, California, including Santa Ana, Tustin, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Garden Grove, Orange, San Juan Capistrano, San Juan Hot Springs, and Irvine. There are also photographs of Catalina Island and Riverside. More than half of the photographs date to the period prior to 1900. The collection includes in most cases the glass plate or film negatives used to create the prints.

Note on photo: This might be the caravans of the famous "L Company" returning from WW1. It might also be a celebration in the 1920s. A parade of horse-drawn carriages lines on side of the street. Vehicles line the other side of the street. There are many individuals standing along both sides of the street, in the roadway, and on the sidewalks. Numerous American flags are also visible. An advertisment for Dutch Kithchen cafeteria style is on the side of a building. Signs for a mrket store, bicycles, and cash are also visible. Santa Ana, CA.
