The collection consists of photographs taken between 1882 and 1953 of various exterior locations primarily in Orange County, California, including Santa Ana, Tustin, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Garden Grove, Orange, San Juan Capistrano, San Juan Hot Springs, and Irvine. There are also photographs of Catalina Island and Riverside. More than half of the photographs date to the period prior to 1900. The collection includes in most cases the glass plate or film negatives used to create the prints.

General

The Orange County Business College entry in the annual Parade of Products celebration, posing at the corner of Sixth and Sycamore. The Orange County Courthouse is in the background with the tower in place, which was later damaged in the eartquake of 1933. Bell Tower is visible above the float, which was at Santa Ana Central Grammar School, later razed (In 1969 it was the site of the YMCA). The float contains a group of indivuals, with many of the women in hats and carrying umbrellas. Other individuals in the group are on horses and some are carrying signs for the Orange County Business College. Santa Ana, CA.
