The Local History Collection focuses on the history of Orange County California and the cities within Orange County, Southern California and to a lesser extent California as a whole. All Time periods from 1776-2012 (to date) are covered. The collection includes 3860 cataloged books and pamphlets, correspondence, ephemera, manuscripts, maps, memoribilia. papers, periodicals, posters and photographs.

General

Materials belonging to the Edinger family, who emigrated from Missouri to northern California in 1854. In 1872, C.C. Edinger moved to Santa Ana, where he was a vegetable farmer and later mayor of the city. The collection includes papers, photographs, and other items primarily from the late 19th and early 20th century.
