Biographical / Historical
Alan Everett Hudson (b. 1874 - 1905) was born in Norfolk England to Thomas More Hudson and Jane eliza Everett on an 1,000 acre manor farm. As Midshipman Hudson, he served on three ships between 1889 - 1893, from which the journal, log, and photo album were created.
As a sub-lieutenant and lieutenant he served on cruisers in Australian waters, a battleship in the Channel Squadron, and he commanded a destroyer operating out of Plymouth. He then went to the Cape of Good Hope as an executive officer of a cruiser, and in January 1905, was assigned for the second time to command a Plymouth-based destroyer. He died in February 1905.
