Scope and Contents note

The University Archives Collection documents the mission and history of California State University, Fullerton, its academic and administrative units, and its personnel from 1957 to the present. The collection includes papers, publications, photographs, memorabilia, and ephemera created by the university community.

The collection encompasses records from the Office of the President; Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs; Division of Administration and Finance; Human Resources and Inclusive Excellence; Division of Information Technology; Division of Student Affairs and Strategic Enrollment Management; and University Advancement. Academic unit records include materials from the College of the Arts, College of Business and Economics, College of Communications, College of Education, College of Engineering and Computer Science, College of Health and Human Development, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and the Paulina June & George Pollak Library. The collection also includes records from the Academic Senate, CSUF satellite campuses, the California Faculty Association CSU Fullerton Chapter, and faculty research materials, as well as general campus historical information.

The collection is comprised of students' master's theses microfilm and 2,070 linear feet of archival materials housed in document and record storage boxes. Records are organized into record groups based on the originating office or unit.

Abstract

The University Archives Collection documents California State University, Fullerton from 1957 to the present through administrative records, publications, photographs, memorabilia, and ephemera. The collection includes records from the Office of the President, academic and administrative divisions, eight colleges, the library, Academic Senate, satellite campuses, and faculty. Materials total approximately 2,070 linear feet, and microfilm reels of master's theses.

Arrangement

Records are intellectually arranged according to the current university organizational structure. The arrangement follows the current (2025) campus organization chart, with materials grouped by their present-day schools, departments, and offices. Historical names of administrative units have been retained in the original records and have not been updated to reflect current nomenclature. The physical arrangement of materials has also been maintained.
