The Local History Collection focuses on the history of Orange County California and the cities within Orange County, Southern California and to a lesser extent California as a whole.
The collection includes 3860 cataloged books and pamphlets, correspondence, ephemera, manuscripts, maps, memoribilia, microfilm, papers, periodicals, posters and photographs.

Contains a mail order form for "Rancho Cucamonga and Doña Merced" by Esther Boulton Black. Also contains a large flyer about Maria Merced Rains and Rancho Cucamonga, written by Ronald Dean Miller for the placing of a historical plaque by the Billy Holcomb chapter of E Clampus Vitus, a fraternal organization of American West preservationists.
